Dr. Amy BonDurant

Medical Advisor

Amy is one of Cindy’s older sisters. She lives in Seattle, Washington with her husband, Matt. They have two beautiful daughters, Alia and Kira and a Bernese mountain dog, Cleo. She loves the outdoors and the beauty of the Northwest with all it has to offer. Her passions include her family, hiking, biking, and learning all things nutrition.

Amy has been volunteering for various organizations since she was in high school. She is always looking to improve the lives of others and naturally found a career in medicine as a result. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at Loyola Marymount University. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine Degree at Creighton University. She started her medical career in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia and then trained at Duke University to become a fellowship-trained, board-certified Gynecologic Oncologist. She is currently obtaining her Master of Science degree in Nutrition Education at American University. She works for Swedish Medical Center in Seattle and is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington and Washington State University Medical Schools.

Amy is very committed to Lulu Nurse, to honor the beautiful, giving person that Cindy was and to continue Cindy’s generosity to others. She is eager to empower nurses to focus on healthful living for themselves first, and then to share this knowledge with others.

Rebecca Gombos

Foundation Advisor

Rebecca is one of Cindy’s older sisters. She lives in Valencia, California with her husband, Rick, their sons Nick and Luke, and dogs Boogie and Max. Rebecca enjoys spending time with family and friends, healthy eating, exercise, reading, and music.   Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Humanities, with an emphasis in English Literature, from Loyola Marymount University. Thereafter, she earned her law degree from California Western School of Law. Rebecca has spent her entire career in the field of employment law, where she has represented both employers and employees. Currently, she is a senior attorney at Landegger Verano & Davis, ALC, an employment law defense firm in Los Angeles that provides advice, counsel, and litigation support to various types of companies, including many non-profit organizations.   Rebecca has always had a passion for health and wellness. Through Lulu Nurse, she is devoted to telling Cindy’s story and supporting the nursing community and beyond to live a more healthful lifestyle, both mentally and physically.

Michael Bland

Fundraising Advisor

Michael is Cindy’s older brother. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Nioka and their fur baby Pepe (a Lhasa Apso). In his free time, Michael enjoys reading, yoga, skiing, cooking, and music.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management. Michael is currently the Chief Development officer at Pathway Vet Alliance. His professional career has spanned investment banking, investment management, and private equity.

Michael has a passion for diet and mental health. He is the co-founder of Thrive Affordable Vet Care and has served on the board of several companies focused on health and wellness. With Lulu Nurse, Michael focuses his efforts on fund-raising to support the various initiatives Cindy’s foundation is working towards.

Matt BonDurant

Information Advisor

Matt is married to Cindy’s sister Amy. They live in Seattle, Washington, with two awesome active daughters. He is an organizer of memories and director of athletics for his family. He enjoys open water swimming, backcountry skiing, bicycling, and soccer.

Matt is driven to improve healthcare by supporting processes that assist caregivers, allowing them to focus on patient outcomes. Matt founded and helps to run ProCARE Portal; a SaaS-based enterprise healthcare fintech company focused on value-based reimbursement. He earned a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Matt coordinates a Prek- 8 grade CYO soccer league for his church, has launched professional associations, and founded and now sits on the board of an online conference and learning platform.

In honor of Cindy’s passion for helping people, Matt is committed to leveraging technology to provide the nursing community an engagement and support platform second to none.
