Patient Perspective

Colon cancer can be diagnosed at any age and the incidence is increasing in younger men and women. You may or may not have symptoms related to colon cancer when it develops. Screening is therefore important whether you have symptoms or not.  Family history is a risk factor, however, effects up to only about 30% of those diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Do not think that you are immune to this cancer just because you have no symptoms or no family history. Take the time to be checked and catch this disease early!       Lulu Nurse is honored to have Allison speak to us about her perspective on colon cancer. Allison was diagnosed with colon cancer at a young age and had no symptoms. She was lucky enough to have had early screening and was diagnosed at an early stage, giving her a great prognosis. Thank you, Allison, for being willing to share your story with us all. Hearing from patients who have had colon cancer it can be one of the most effective ways for us to learn about the disease.
